Unité II
This configuration is the same as that of Unité I but with the stairs turned 90° as per Stacked Stairs. One corridor level serves three floors with a studio apartment on one side of the corridor. On the other side, stairs passing by one bedroom continue to the upper level of a two-bedroom apartment, and are stacked above those going down to a one-bedroom apartment. Apart from the direction of the stairs, the upper and lower levels are identical.
Having the stairs and the bedroom side-by-side reduces the width of the bedroom but the hallways of the upper and lower level apartments are now more welcoming. Moreover, the stairwell can now have a window making it more pleasant to use and to improve cross-ventilation for the apartment.
As with Unité I, there is one shaft either side of the access core.
