Type F III
Before the Type FII apartment came this alternative proposal for improving Moisei Ginzburg's Type F apartment. Upper and lower living rooms are unobstructed by stairs that are now fully stacked. The space below the lower staircase can always be used but the kitchen is now separated from the service riser.
Unlike the FII, the landing can't be a corridor in the conventional way since bedrooms aren't in line with living areas. Instead, with the upper apartment, the top of the rear stair accesses a bedroom above the entrance of the lower apartment and extends to access another bedroom above the entrance of the adjacent upper apartment.
The lower apartment has no wasted corridor because the living area is used to access the other bedroom. However, the bottom of the stair could similarly extend next door to lead to a second bedroom.
